Line Johannesen - Trombone

Line Johannesen is Norwegian and her background is from the Norwegian wind band tradition. She started playing at the age of 8 in the school band and continued to play in different wind- and brass bands. She studied music education at the Conservatory in Tromsø and moved on to study performing art at the Norwegian Academy of Music in Oslo with Ingemar Roos and Thorbjørn Lønmo and at the Academy of Music in Malmö with PK Svensen.
From 2003-2006 Line was member of Verbier Festival Orchestra, and since 2006 she has been living in Finland, playing in The Finnish Radio Symphony Orchestra where she has been a permanent member since 2008 as wechsel trombone.
Line has played with most of the Finnish orchestras such as Finnish National Opera and Finnish Chamber Orchestra, she’s been giving master classes in Germany and Finland and performed in several festivals, among them ITF 2015 in Valencia, Lieksa Brass Week, Aino Ackté chamber music festival and FRSO’s chamber music series. She’s been touring several times with Tine Thing Helseth and tenThing and teaching in the Finnish brass Academy for young brass players. She is regularly performing with Uusinta ensemble of contemporary music and the brass ensemble World Brass. Last August Line started her artistic doctoral studies at the Sibelius Academy.

Luis Alejandro García Pérez - Guitar

Born in La Laguna (Tenerife), he discovered music from a very young age through his family; especially thanks to his father. When he was 4 years old he took his first steps with the Canary timple. He began playing the guitar at the age of 8 with the teacher Silvestre Álvarez, training that would continue in the conservatory of Tenerife, obtaining the End of Degree Award in Professional Education (2012). Later, he obtained his superior degree with the highest grades and various honors at the Conservatorio Superior de Música de Canarias (2016), as well as the studies of Musicology in the same center. The following year he completed his master’s studies at the Escola Superior de Música de Catalunya, under the tutelage of Àlex Garrobé, where he completed his final recital with honors.
He has won more than 20 national and international awards, such as the First Prize and the Festival d'Ordino Prize at the 89 ‘Concurso Permanente de Juventudes Musicales de España’ (2018) or the First Prize, Llobet Prize and Public Prize at the prestigious ‘Miquel Llobet’ Certamen Internacional de Guitarra de Barcelona (2017). He has received lessons from masters such as Leo Brouwer, David Russell, Marco Tamayo, Carlo Marchione or Zoran Dukic, among many others, and has offered masterclasses and concerts in different theaters and auditoriums inside the archipelago, as well as in the rest of Spain, Chile, Argentina or the USA. He has also collaborated as a soloist with orchestras such as the Orquesta Sinfónica de Tenerife, Orquesta Sinfónica de Las Palmas and the ‘Ópera de Cámara de Canarias’ orquestra. His first CD, “Lazos sobre el Atlántico”, was published by the JSM Guitar Records label in July 2018.
As a lover of popular music, he often includes works of this repertoire in his concerts, particularly from South America. He is a member of the Canary Guitar Quartet, with which he has performed in different places of Spain, in addition to having won the First Prize in the Chamber Competition of “Festival Internacional de Guitarra ‘Ciutat d’Elx’” or having been finalists of the ‘María Orán’ Chamber Music Prize 2018. Their first record, titled “21”, was released in September 2018.

Tomoko Sawano - Colaborativ Pianist

Born in Tokyo in 1969, Tomoko began playing the piano at the age of three. She studied at the Tokyo College of Music High School and Tokyo College of Music under Katsuko Miura and Kazune Shimizu, winning Third Prize in the Special Grade of the PTNA Piano Competition in 1992.
In 1993 Tomoko moved to Germany to study at the University of the Arts, Berlin under Prof.Rainer Becker. In 1995, during her studies in Germany, she was awarded a Diplom at the International Music Competition Maria Canals of Barcelona.
Since high school Tomoko has been dedicated to ensemble performance. She places importance not just acting as an accompanist, but on serving as an essential partner during performances. With flexibility and a resolute musical sense she possesses great ensemble abilities that allow her to become one with her co-performers. She is highly regarded for her ability to draw out the musicianship of her collaborators. As a result she receives offers from musicians all over the world for CD recordings, concert tours, and recitals.
Additionally, Tomoko has served as an official pianist at competitions and workshops across the globe, including the International Instrumental Competition Markneukirchen (Germany), ARD International Music Competition (Germany), Philip Jones International Competition (France), International Trombone Festival (Denmark), Pacific Music Festival (Sapporo), Mondoñedo Workshop (Spain), and TubaMania International Festival (Thailand). She has won many best pianist awards at these events.
From 1998 Tomoko has served as brass and wind répétiteur at both the University of the Arts, Berlin and the Franz Liszt college of Music, Weimar. She receives extremely high praise for her work in these schools and many of her students have won prizes at international competitions.
Tomoko currently lives in Berlin, Germany.
